Design Questions

  • To provide support to the Cheif Equity Programs Officer in Strategy Design and to provide strategic coaching.

  • How might we create a space for a Black, female leader to design her strategy for hosting the work, and navigating the people, and staying whole?

The Experience

Over 2 months time, we engaged in design research, synthesis, stakeholder engagement and prototyping and strategy creation. This including weekly coaching sessions along the way around hosting and implementation of strategy work.

The Deliverables and Outcomes

  • Design Antiracist, pro-Black scope and sequence for the 23/24 Network Goal -

  • Commitment to Anti-Racism: Become an anti-racist, pro-Black public charter school network by developing equitable leaders, inclusive school sites, & dismantling racist structures.

  • Anti-Racist/Pro-Black Learning and Capacity Building: Build capacity for Alliance leaders to understand, engage in, build ongoing capacity, and lead anti-racism work with their staff, to embed DEI, antiracist, pro-Black practices in the home office and at school sites.
