Peter Worth
D4E HIVE DESIGNER
Peter is an education consultant and learning experience designer working at the busy intersection of design thinking, leadership, professional learning, and school culture change. In recent years, he has worked closely with the Stanford d.school and Catalyst. He has co-created resources like the Positive Deviance Toolkit for Educators and the latest edition of the Equitable Learning Practices (Co-Designing Schools Toolkit). Peter was also co-director of School Retool (a project of the K12 Lab and IDEO).
Informed by his background in education, Peter has developed a design practice that balances analytical and creative problem-solving. He has also learned that great progress can be made by taking the time to listen first. This has positioned Peter to guide people through their initial discomfort with design to discover skills they did not know they had and to help educators recognize their power in the transformation of schools as a part of a larger story of impact. In addition, Peter works with K12 schools, universities, and non-profit organizations in the US and the UK to promote local innovation.
Peter believes that the health of our society depends on each of us living to our potential and being connected to our purpose. Because of this, he actively engages in efforts to make schools places where all students can thrive. Peter is thriving when he canoe, plays board games, and watches movies with his family in his adopted home of Northern Ireland.
