Rachel Siegel
D4E HIVE DESIGNER
Design + Innovation Specialist, Lakeland Community College
Teachers Guild Program Manager, K-12
Design Sprint Program Manager, Parents as Allies Family Engagement
Licensed School Counselor
As the design + innovation specialist at Lakeland Community College in Ohio, Rachel oversees programming in the Teachers Guild Program and the Parents as Allies Family Engagement. She was previously a licensed school counselor and director of counseling whose work included a stint in Bolivia. This was before Rachel realized she wanted to be her whole self in her efforts as a changemaker and found her way into the world of creativity and design.
As a designer and community builder, Rachel sees people for who they are, individually and collectively. This allows her to bring transformative joy and authenticity into her work. It also allows her to radiate love and meaningful play as a part of helping people grow into their potential. Rachel is committed to design and innovation because she wants to witness moments when people believe in their creativity and power to affect change.
For personal inspiration, Rachel reconnects with the things she loved as a kid - music, dance, singing loudly, writing, and playing with toys with her four children. She also has found inspiration through new explorations in spirituality, tarot, and food-making. But if all of that is not enough to inspire, she drinks a lot of coffee, sometimes even in the afternoon.
